Camp Tophat and the Penny Arcade

A photograph from the site’s collection showing an unknown soldier at Camp Tophat with the “Penny Arcade” in the background. Camp Tophat was located on the outskirts of Antwerp and was one of the Cigarette Camps which processed U.S. soldiers on their way out of the European Theater. Robert Gallagher has an interesting account of his visit to Camp Tophat at the end of the war on his website.
