shocking photos!
If memory serves most of these tanks were bogged down in the mud during an artillery barrage. Some were damaged and the crews tried to recover them but were ordered to abandon and leave the area. The Americans came in later and blew them up. 4 Tigers including the 142, 3 PZIV Gs and the PZIII N 832 at this site and not too far away, the 823, 833 and what we think was the 111 about 100 yards further down.
It’s interesting to note that among the wreckage is an M3 GMC Tank Destroyer. Was it knocked out there previously or destroyed during this particular battle?
Any chance of getting higher res photos of P29 and P33? Those are two I have not scene before.

P29 is only a small size – it was from an EBay auction of a series of old photocards. P33 may have been posted on Missing Lynx.

Excellent culmination of what I have been seeing over several different forums and groups. I had been researching this for quite some time before I discovered the online discussions, then finally this. I am looking to model this scene and I am looking to access the pictures that you have above. I can get the Time Life ones fairly easily, and I have some of the other ones, but there are a large number that I have never seen. I woudn’t put too much importance on having access to all the photos ecxept for the fact that each picture seems to have additional details into the layout of the scene. I found a photo of the Panzer IV shown in P30 and P35 that I don’t believe you have. The photo would be directly between those two angles previouslt mentioned, taken from the jeep that is parked in several pictures on the road behing the panzer IV. Email me and I will send it to you.
