Maj. Gen. Edward M. Almond (1892-1979)
October 1942 - August 1945. Gen. Almond led the 92nd from its formation until the end of WWII. After WWII, Gen. Almond commanded the X Corps in Korea, and later served as head of the Army War College. He retired in 1953.

August 1945 - Inactivation.
