Maj. Gen. Paul W. Newgarden (1892-1944)
July 1942 - July 1944. Gen. Newgarden was killed in an airplane crash in the United States in July 1944.
Maj. Gen. William H. H. Morris, Jr.
July 1944 - May 1945. Gen. Morris assumed command of the 10th after the death of Gen. Newgarden. Gen. Morris had formerly commanded the 6th Armored Division and XVIII Corps. After commanding the 10th, Gen. Morris later led the VI Corps.
