Maj. Gen. John C. H. Lee
November 1941 - May 1942. During WWI, Gen. Lee served with the 89th Infantry Division. After commanding 2nd Infantry Division, Gen. Lee later served as Commanding General, Services of Supply in the European Theater. In January 1944, Gen. Lee was appointed deputy commander of U.S. ETO forces, second in command to Eisenhower. Gen. Lee retired in 1947. He died in 1958.
Maj. Gen. Walter M. Robertson
May 1942 - June 1945. Gen. Robertson commanded the 2nd Infantry Division throughout the division's service overseas.
